At their villa, you can instantly understand why Rolph and Rolf count themselves amongst Ibiza’s most sought-after architects and designers. Canadian Rolph Blakstad founded his own firm after he had studied the art and architecture of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance in Florence, as well as traditional Islamic art. Today, father and son are well known for preserving the functional and cubic forms of traditional buildings – it is said that the Bauhaus style has roots in Ibiza – and at the same time giving them a contemporary character.
