The Blue Penny Museum was founded in 2001 at the Caudan Waterfront. It features historic memories from the origins of Mauritius, and is the only museum in the world to feature the 1847 Mauritius “Post Office” stamp. The museum’s shop offers visitors the chance to bring home a piece of Mauritius’ rich history. With souvenirs commemorating various historic points in the development in the island, tourists can choose and buy trinkets to remember their trip to this interesting site.
