It was like a rebirth when the Taj Mahal Palace reopened on August 15, 2010, just two years after the terrorist attacks in Mumbai. The date of the reopening was deliberately chosen to coincide with India’s Independence Day. A whole armada of interior designers and artisans had joined forces so that this major landmark could rise again—a true testament to the indomitable spirit of Mumbai. Today, the Palace Hotel is more glamorous than ever and it is once again the hub of the city’s social life.
