In 2010, the Mandarin Oriental Group opened its first property in Southern Europe on Barcelona’s prestigious boulevard Passeig de Gràcia. Showing distinct Asian influences, the design by Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola is an impressive example of how to create an ambience that epitomizes contemporary lightness while still being luxurious. From the rooftop pool and terrace you can see all of Barcelona’s famous landmarks: from Gaudí’s Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, and Jean Nouvel’s Torre Agbar, to the Mediterranean. The restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star.
