In a creek by Île d’Ambre in the northern part of Mauritius, on the same day every year and at the same time––beginning at 10 in the morning––boats begin to gather around a catamaran, one that is quite fond of playing trance and techno music. As more boats soon arrive, the shallow waters of the creek are filled with a bona fide party of some 500 people that lasts all day long! The music is great and, best of all, it’s totally free!
