All of Bhutan is steeped in Buddhism and living spirituality. This is also reflected in the COMO Group’s Uma Paro, located above Paro in a blue pine forest. The 20 rooms and nine villas were built by Bhutanese craftsmen on traditional models. Furnishings are reduced and concentrated so as not to distract the good spirit, according to the belief of owner Christina Ong. Guests should truly find peace. The only decoration is the Bhutanese paintings on the walls showing scenes from Buddhist mythology. In some rooms bukharis (open wood ovens) provide a homey atmosphere.
