Star architect Mario Botta’s “Bergoase” spa at Graubünden’s Tschuggen Hotel catapulted the Swiss grand hotel into the 21st century. The light sails projecting from the mountain, which provide subtle reflections in the underground spaces, have long since become the symbol of Arosa. The 5,000 m2 spa was blasted deep into the mountain. It encourages meditation and contemplation. The nearly sacred feeling of the “Bergoase” finds cheerful accompaniment in the 130 rooms and suites decorated by designer Carlo Rampazzi with vibrant colours and surprising details.
