When the Landmark Mandarin Oriental opened its doors in 2005, it set new standards. Hotel designers Peter Remedios from Los Angeles and Adam D. Tihany from Israel reinterpreted contemporary luxury with clear lines, polished surfaces, gigantic free-standing sandstone bathtubs, and three LCD TVs in each of the 113 rooms. Fashion lovers don’t even have to venture out into the street to go shopping; they can reach the trendiest stores in the adjacent shopping centers via a network of sky bridges.
