The history of the resort at the foot of Camelback Mountain goes back to the fifties, when a group of Hollywood stars and tennis greats hired a student of Frank Lloyd Wright to design a weekend getaway house. His handwriting can still be seen today, following the reopening of the hotel in 2001 as a sanctuary with a wide range of spa offerings. Guests reside in 105 casitas built into the cliffs, and from them you can see Paradise Valley or Camelback Mountain, which the Indians believe has magical powers. A good omen for the revitalizing rituals such as the espresso mud treatment administered in the twelve treatment rooms.
