RAFFLES HOTEL LE ROYAL
PHOTOS MAPS

Built in 1929, Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh had a checkered history until it was reopened in 1997 after a top-to-bottom renovation. Three wings, which enclose a charming courtyard, are new additions. And yet, time seems to stand still in this elegant building which blends French colonial style with elements of Khmer architecture. Liveried waiters serve cocktails garnished with orchids, classical music fills the lobby, and in the bathrooms you’ll find original style bathtubs with lion’s paw feet.
