The venerable building once housed quality men’s fashion. Since 2012, 200 bright and colorful rooms occupy the space of Gowings, a former department store, and the upper floors of the State Theatre. Stage lights and velvet curtains in the lobby echo QT’s theatrical past. High ceilings, long hallways, and 1929 wood floors speak of Gowings’ old glamour and glory. Today, LED- and video installations, modern art, and extravagant furnishings add a modern touch to the old charm.
