This location is an experience, even for seasoned travelers. The resort on a cliff near the Knysna Lagoon is bordered on one side by the magnificent lagoon and on the other by the Indian Ocean. The advantage of this site continues on the golf course: Water is everywhere, and the views are intoxicating. Yet the course demands full concentration from the very first hole, a 546-yard par 5, while 16 and 17 are short but tricky par-4 holes. With its opulent spa, the hotel is situated in the heart of the Garden Route, one of the most popular travel destinations in Africa. In addition to tennis, squash, horseback riding, and guided hikes through untouched forests, guests can also try their hand at cricket, a sport unfamiliar to most.
