Small, unique getaways are where it’s at on the star-studded Côte d’Azur. Five minutes by car from the Place des Lices, where “tout Saint-Tropez” gathers in the evening, we find the Muse—which opened at the end of June 2010—amid terraced gardens designed by Sophie Agata Ambroise. Muses such as Grace, Audrey, and Catherine gave the 15 suites their names. Ten of the suites have their own pools. As in the neighboring billionaires’ mansions, the entrance is discreetly hidden from view. The interior plays with a whole palette of whites and creams. Stone floors and walls plastered with elaborate marmorino treatment keep the rooms pleasantly cool. A Bentley shuttles guests to the beach at Ramatuelle, where they are waited on by personal “sun butlers.”
