A former 1928 bank building on the elegant Rue Saint-Honoré houses the Mandarin Oriental, opened in June 2011. The guiding principle behind the design concept for the 99 rooms and 39 suites was to capture the special vibe of Paris. Far Eastern style elements, particularly in the 9,700-square-foot spa, allude to the origins of the Asian hotel group. The action-packed cuisine of Thierry Marx—a true Bruce Willis behind the stove—is absolutely sensational and finds the perfect framework in the completely white avant-garde restaurant.
