A white igloo with utopian domed architecture and a life-size ET doll greeting visitors from behind a desk – this is Majorca’s window into space. As one of the only planetariums in Europe, the observatory in Costitx can project pictures from near and distant telescopes in real time. The observatory also works on strictly scientific projects and has already discovered about 5,000 asteroids and three comets. The full-size replica of the Apollo 11, meanwhile, thrills would-be astronauts of all ages.
