LONGITUDE 131°

The Aṉangu’s holy mountain, Uluru, in the heart of the Australian Outback, is where the dream paths of the aboriginal people’s creation myth intersect. At this spiritual site, atop a sand dune on the 131st meridian, lies this luxury wilderness camp. With 15 tents, supported on stilts and covered with canvas, this resort brings “glamping” to a new level. Almost like a research camp in the middle of nowhere, the accommodations surround the central Dune House, where the restaurant (Australian-French cuisine), bar/lounge, and library are located. The décor is modernly rustic, reminding of the age of pioneers. Expansive panoramic windows facing Ayers Rock allow for a spectacular morning greeting: Uluru is just over six miles away and glows at sunrise.
