The Limonaias—lemon groves that give the landscape on the western shores of Lake Garda its own unique character—provided the model for the architecture of the luxury hotel Lefay, opened in 2008. Minimization of harmful effects on the environment was ensured early on in construction, as power is generated from renewable energy sources and the materials are left as near to their natural state as possible. Luxury is defined by the owner’s family as an interaction of space, rest, time, and nature: Everything that contributes to your wellbeing, instead of that which appears fancy.
