LE MANOIR AUX QUAT'SAISON

Why would a Frenchman—and a Michelin-starred chef at that—be doing in the South of England? Top chef Raymond Blanc brought a little bit of home with him to this foreign land: He founded a gourmet retreat in a stately manor in the Oxfordshire. Lords and Ladies will feel right at home here. The expansive grounds include a teahouse and water garden, as well as a vegetable patch with over 90 sorts of vegetables and 70 herbs—something for every palate. The 32 rooms in the main house and the garden wing also offer something for everyone: L’Orangerie is a white and pastel-colored gem with a separate living room. The Jade room is an opulent display in green, inspired by the owner’s visits to Southeast Asia. The Vettriano junior suite offers a touch of drama, with deep red walls and Venetian masks.
