KASBAH DU TOUBKAL
PHOTOS MAPS

It’s called Ismil, the narrow and rocky mountain path that wends its way through the Atlas and up to the Kasbah, from whose fortified terraces you get a spectacular view of Toubkal, at 4.167 meters North Africa’s tallest peak. By Berber custom, arriving visitors are greeted with dates and a drink of milk, while their hands are moistened with rose water. The hotel is operated in close cooperation with the local Berbers, affording an authentic glimpse of the customs of these North African mountain people. The rooms and suites are even furnished in Berber style with characteristic woven carpets and leather cushions.
