JACK’S CAMP
PHOTOS MAPS

The Great Nothingness: there’s no better way to describe the landscape of the Makgadikgadi salt flats in Botswana. An enormous space where absolutely nothing grows. You stand in the middle of it and get the impression that the horizon is bending, you think you see that the Earth really is a ball. There was a real Jack. He was a famous hunter who started going on safari with people in Botswana back in the 20’s. The location of today’s Camp, now run by Jack’s son, served as his base. The 10 canvas tents still contain the original furniture from the 30’s and 40’s.
