Located in the heart of Graz on the Mur River, this grand hotel willingly gave up its 5-star rating. Why? Freed from the constraints of the criteria surrounding the star rating system, this hotel built in 1909 is setting new standards. In its 97 rooms, Art Nouveau and vintage pieces contrast with modern design. In addition, guests encounter the occasional surprise: an old typewriter, a record player and vinyl, guitars, yoga mats, and even a small library. An original Art Nouveau mosaic decorates the breakfast room, and guests will find street art and soul music spun by DJs in the restaurant. Cafeteria “Senf und Söhne” serves meat in every way imaginable, while a barber next door and a wellness oasis add a Middle Eastern touch.
