People expect great things of Switzerland: relaxed people and intact nature. All that and more can be found at the Hotel Therme Vals complex. The four 1960s-era hotel buildings are fairly plain on the outside, but what counts is what’s inside. The Therme was opened in 1996 based on plans by Swiss star architect Peter Zumthor. He redecorated 60 of the 140 hotel rooms to match his design for the baths. There are special hours reserved for hotel guests as well as exclusive night bathing in complete tranquility.
