Its location in the heart of Salzburg is stunning. The hotel is flanked by the River Salzach; the rooms on the west side and the restaurant terraces offer the kind of views for which the city of Mozart is so famous: across the domes of the Old Town towards the Mönchsberg and Fortress Hohensalzburg. After the Viennese hotelier family Gürtler acquired the hotel, they decorated the 113 rooms and suites with choice antiques, original paintings, and carpets. Three restaurants serve sophisticated Austrian cuisine, including Salzburger Nockerln, the sweet soufflé that is Salzburg’s signature dish.
