FJÄLLNÄS RESERVE
PHOTOS MAPS

Sweden’s oldest mountain hotel, was built in 1882, and is situated in the far North in the province of Härjedalen, where elk, bears and lynxes still roam the woods. They say this place has eight seasons and you might experience all of them in a single day. The historic ocher yellow wooden houses are complemented by two new wings. All rooms are decorated in elegant Scandinavian simplicity. The focus of any visit is going on excursions with the hotel guides through the wilderness as it was formed by the last ice age: for dogsled racing, ice fishing, or cross-country skiing on 186-miles-long (300 kilometers) prepared trails.
