Jordan’s Dana Biosphere Reserve covers three hundred and twenty square kilometers. Endangered species such as the Syrian wolf or the finely marked desert cats are protected from extinction here. The RSCN (Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature) built the 26-room Ecolodge to generate revenue to protect nature, while at the same time providing employment opportunities to the local Bedouin community. It has become the model for further eco-tourism projects in Jordan.
