Thousands of years of erosion have created unique formations on the high Anatolian plateau that are counted among UNESCO World Heritage. Entire cities and churches were carved into the soft tufa of Cappadocia’s cave-rich terrain during Roman times, offering refuge to persecuted Christians. Today they are an extraordinary retreat for stressed-out urbanites. Five different caverns house the boutique hotel Anatolian Houses with 28 different rooms. They are grouped around a patio with a curved water basin.
