Added to the city in 2013, the Aman Canal Grande is the city’s latest luxury resort, housed in the 16th-century Palazzo Papadopoli, right on the blue lifeline of the city, the Grand Canal. As such, guests arrive at the hotel by boat. Those who enter the lobby by means of the jetty are immediately confronted with the splendor of this Venetian palace: high ceilings adorned with opulent frescos, murals, reliefs, and gold moldings. The décor is, in comparison, unpretentious, giving the spaces an aesthetic appeal. The private garden—one of the few on the Grand Canal—is the perfect spot to enjoy a meal.
